🌈 When the Crow Was Colorful
It is said that long ago, the crow was not black.
Its feathers were bright and colorful. They shone beautifully in the sunlight.
It looked even more beautiful than many other birds.
When it flew, it looked like a rainbow in the sky.
Around that time, a terrible drought struck the Earth.
Rivers dried up.
Ponds became empty.
Animals and birds suffered from thirst.
Crisis spread everywhere.
The gods decided to save the Earth.
They planned to bring a life-giving nectar from the underworld.
For this task, they needed a fast and brave bird.

🌊 The Gods’ Command
The gods searched for a clever and swift bird for this difficult mission.
At last, they chose the crow.
They warned him strictly:
“Bring the life-giving nectar from the underworld. But remember—you must not drink even a single drop.”
The crow spread his beautiful wings and began his long journey.
He crossed rough paths and passed through dark tunnels.
Finally, he reached the divine nectar.
💧 A Moment of Weakness
He filled the nectar into his vessel and started his return.
On the way back, he felt very thirsty.
The journey was long, and the thirst became unbearable.
His throat dried up.
He tried to control himself for a long time.
But his strength slowly faded.
At last, he could not resist.
He thought, “What harm could one drop do?”
And he drank a few drops of the nectar.
The moment he drank, a sudden change occurred.
His colorful feathers turned black.
Their bright glow disappeared.
He felt shocked and afraid.
Still, he remembered his duty.
He carried the nectar back to the gods.

⚖️ Duty Fulfilled, Yet Punished
The gods saw that the crow had completed his task.
But he had also disobeyed their command.
They used the nectar to restore life on Earth.
Greenery returned. Life became normal again.
However, they did not return the crow’s original color.
From that day on, the crow became black forever — a reminder that disobedience and broken trust have consequences.
