It is said about the Someshwar Mahadev temple that Lord Shiva had made the deities of Somaras drink here and also revealed the eleventh Rudra. It is believed that this is the only place in the world where eleven Vat(Banyan) trees are found. These eleven Vata trees are considered as the replicas of Rudra. Bholenath resides here as these Rudras.
A huge fair is held here during Mahashivratri which lasts for two days. Devotees come here in large numbers from far and wide. It is believed that the wish sought from the true mind is fulfilled here. There is a huge ground on the left side of the temple where there are many huge banyan trees and this fair is also held. Bedi is also made in the temple for the Yajna rituals.
The main temple has a huge Shivling which is covered with brass and copper metal। There is also a huge banyan tree inside the temple as well. On the back side of the temple there are small temples of other Gods and Goddesses, which include the temple of Durga Mata, the temple of Radha Krishna, the temple of Hanuman. Many basil plants are also planted nearby.
There is a lot of peace of mind by coming here.
