Religion of haryana

Hinduism is the major religion in Haryana followed by maximum number of people. People follow Hindu traditions and worship Lord Shiva, Lord Rama and other Hindu Gods and Goddesses.

Till 1966, Haryana was a part of Punjab; so you will find a good percentage of people follow Sikhism. As a matter of fact, Haryana has maximum number of Sikhs, after Punjab. Sikhs are mostly located in west and central Haryana.

Almost five percent of the total population follow Islam and Muslims here belong to different categories including Asharf, Ajlaf and Arzal.

There are people following Christianity, Jainism and Buddhism; however, that constitutes less than 0.5 percent people.
