Guru Gobind Singh

Guru Gobind Singh (1666–1708) was the 10th and final human Guru of Sikhism. He was a spiritual leader, warrior, poet, and philosopher who played a crucial role in shaping Sikh identity. He founded the Khalsa in 1699, a warrior community dedicated to righteousness and protecting the oppressed. The Khalsa introduced the five Ks (Kesh, Kangha, Kara, Kachera, and Kirpan), which remain central to Sikh identity.

Guru Gobind Singh also declared the Guru Granth Sahib as the eternal Guru of the Sikhs, ensuring that Sikhism would continue under the guidance of scripture rather than a human leader. He was a fierce warrior who fought against Mughal oppression and led several battles to protect religious freedom.
